Why I’m supporting Manzur over Pappas

Chris Pappas is the odds-on favorite to win the Sept. 8 primary. But I believe Karishma Manzur is the Democrats strongest candidate to beat John Sununu in November. She is telegenic, eloquent, articulate and accomplished.

Her opponent, the establishment’s candidate Chris Pappas supports ICE, warrantless arrests and more blind support for Israel. He voted for a resolution honoring the life and legacy of the far right religious nationalist Charlie Kirk. Karishma opposes those measures.

She supports a ban on big money in politics and restoring power to the people. She would fix the housing crisis: Build homes and lower rents. She knows we need to lower the cost of living and guarantee quality affordable healthcare for everyone. Karishma calls for investing in American workers with livable wages, strong unions and fair labor practices. She is a proponent of quality public education and would defend the Constitution and strengthen our democracy. And perhaps her strongest appeal is for a new, sensible foreign policy. And she would preserve New Hampshire’s natural beauty and protect our environment.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, you can hear an interview with Karishma at keeping democracyalive.com anytime anywhere.
