Our cost of not voting and the path forward

A silent majority leaves the door open for the most dangerous voices. Staggeringly, 80 million Americans failed to vote in 2024, we are now living the cost of that apathy. We cannot repeat this if we are to save our democracy.

New Hampshire’s own “Country Before Party Steering Committee” — comprised of 58 Republicans and independents — proves that integrity still outweighs partisanship. Even retired Brigadier General Don Bolduc, once endorsed by Trump for the Senate, has shown the courage to back Chris Pappas over John Sununu. These are not mere dissidents; they are people who have studied history and know where this country is headed.

The urgency is clear. Our democracy is being dismantled by corruption, economic instability and attacks on our press, elections and voting rights. We see the Constitution violated through Executive Orders and the weaponization of the Justice Department and the brutal, murderous Gestapo-like conduct of ICE. This decay extends to a foreign policy that betrays our allies and Canadian neighbors, grovels before dictators and launches unlawful, unwinnable wars that kill civilians. The current GOP has forsaken the truth, stability and honor that make us great.

To avoid further buyer’s remorse, we must purge this chaos by voting Democratic up and down the ballot, starting locally. We must entrust our future to qualified leaders ready to restore sanity, respect and competence to New Hampshire and our country.
