Gov. Sununu: I am stunned and sickened by your decision to veto the three common-sense gun reform bills that were thoughtfully crafted by our legislators and sent to you last week.
By way of explanation for your failure to help move us toward a saner approach to the problem of gun violence that is shaking our nation to its core, you blithely said, “New Hampshire is one of the safest states in the nation.”
Governor, I suspect that at one time those same words may have been said by the governors of the following states that, since 2000, have all experienced the horror of mass shootings: Ohio, Texas, California, Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Louisiana, Florida, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Nevada, Arkasnsas, New York, Utah, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Washington, Kansas, Minnesota, Oregon, Connecticut, Alabama, Maryland, Georgia, Nebraska and New Mexico.
Are you waiting for New Hampshire to join this list before you act?
