■The Allenstown Holiday Lighting Contest sponsored by the Allenstown Economic Development Committee has announced the winners. Gary LaFlamme won the best home lights category and Keith Klawes and Kevin Ouellette were co-winners for the lawn lights category. All three winners received a trophy and $25 gift certificate to Sully’s. Congratulations all.

■On New Year’s Eve, the town office will be open until noon and will be closed New Year’s day, reopening on Thursday at 7:30 a.m.

■The Suncook Senior Center will be closed on New Year’s Day.

■The winter parking ban is in effect through April 15. Vehicles parked on public streets after midnight until 6 a.m. can be ticketed and can also be towed depending on the circumstances. Our Highway Department is working hard to clear the streets to make our travels safer.

■Bingo is held on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■TOPS is held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■The library will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday.

■Mahjong is played at the library Tuesday at 10:15 a.m.

■There will be no Wednesday story time or toddler time this week at the library.

■Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday at 6 p.m. at the town office.

■Town office will only be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday and closed on Wednesday, due to holiday.

■Bone Builders will meet on Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m. at the library.

■Pittsfield Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Jan. 14 at the headquarters at 13 Elm St. The meeting will start at 7 p.m.

■The Pittsfield Historical Society continues to raise funds for the new Museum and Headquarters. A commemorative garden on the Museum grounds is being worked on. A “buy-a-brick” project affords an opportunity for people to buy a brick to honor yourself, loved ones past or present or whomever you wish to remember. The bricks will be sold for $100 each and may be engraved with three lines of 18 characters each for a 4- by 8-inch brick. Please visit pittsfieldhistory.com for a donation form and instructions. ■A small weekly newspaper has begun publication in Pittsfield. The Pittsfield Post can be picked up each Wednesday for free in stores and public buildings throughout town. To view the paper online, or subscribe to receive an email of the paper, go to pittsfieldnhcommunitycenter.org.

■The town has a winter parking ban on town roads effective through April 15. This ban prohibits parking in or on the town’s roads or rights of way between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. The town has the right to ticket or tow violators. The purpose of this parking ban is to allow the winter or inclement weather maintenance crews unobstructed routes for snow removal and ice control, to maintain the maximum effectiveness of their efforts.

■Schools will reopen from holiday break on Thursday.

■Pittsfield Youth Workshop will be reopening on Thursday.

■On Jan. 7, a panel of Pittsfield Middle High School alumni will be sharing their high school and post-graduation experiences with students in grades 5 through 12. The annual Home Is Where the Heart Is presentation, facilitated by Angela Castonguay of the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF), provides insight into college, military, and the job industry. PMHS graduates will meet with students by grade level to answer questions and share their post-graduation experience. An alumni reception will follow in the PMHS library at 3 p.m.
