A search committee has selected a pair of finalists for Concord High School’s open principal position.
One of them will be familiar to Concord High students: current Assistant Principal Jim Corkum.
The other is David Dustin, the current principal of Conant Middle High School in Jaffrey.
Corkum and Dustin will engage in second-round interviews at the high school this week. Students and parents will also have the opportunity to meet with the candidates. Dustin’s visit will take place on Wednesday, and Corkum will follow on Thursday.
The district is looking to replace Tim Herbert, who was hired as Concordโs superintendent earlier this year. Kristen Gallo, the longtime Christa McAuliffe School principal, is serving as the interim high school principal this year.
The search committee previously hosted another candidate, Oyster River Principal Rebecca Noe, for a second-round interview. She was not listed among the finalists announced on Monday.
Corkum has served as an assistant principal at Concord High since 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously served as a middle school teacher.
Dustin has served as the principal at Conant since 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The sessions with students will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Interested students are asked to contact Assistant Principal Kaileen Chilauskas.
The sessions with families will take place at 4 p.m. on each day at the high school library. No RSVP is required.
