What was the highlight of your season? Obviously winning the state title for the second year straight but also all the outrageous fun we had doing it.
Who was the unsung hero of your team? 100 percent the freshmen who really stepped up to fill the big shoes of the seniors we graduated. Marliesse, Mya, and Jenna all had really solid performances this season and I couldn’t be more proud of them.
What was the biggest surprise of the season? Honestly, seeing our boys team win states kinda shocked me. They weren’t really a favorite going into this season but they worked so hard and pushed each other all season and it really paid off.
If you could improve high school Nordic skiing in New Hampshire, what would you do? I don’t think the environment could be any better. Every race where teams will cheer for other teams and competitors congratulate each other reminds me how positive this community is. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Do you have any sports superstitions? If so, what are they? I have to eat half a Go-Go Squeeze before each race.
If someone was going to make a movie of your season, who would play your coach? Who would play you? I feel like Kevin (my dad and coach) would absolutely want to play himself. I’d really love Emma Watson to play me because I love Harry Potter and she’s pretty rad.
What was the last gift you gave someone? States was my friend Maddie’s birthday so we joke that we have her the title for her birthday.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently? I wore a flannel buttoned inside-out to school without noticing. My physics teacher called me out.
Describe the color yellow to someone who is blind. It’s kinda like what sun feels like on your skin and the resulting smile.
A penguin walks into your school wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he there? He’s probably lost so he’d ask where the South Pole was… Or Mexico?
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would it be? And what would you serve? Harry, Ron, and Hermione… Duh. I’d serve a Voldemort butt kicking, as if they haven’t had enough of that.
If you had to go on a talent show, what would you do? Flip a bottle? Unoriginal, I know.
What inspires you? The incredible ability of individuals to move entire groups of people from different backgrounds to action. The kind of faith that those individuals have in themselves and others is truly inspiring.
