Henniker Liven up your spring with LINEC

The Learning Institute at New England College (LINEC) has an enticing lineup of spring classes to appeal to a variety of interests.

Among them: The Science of Climate Change; The Normal Aging Process – What to Expect; America in the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era; Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing; Gettysburg, a Battle for the Union; The History of Christianity; American Novel Reading Group; The Mystery of Earth’s History; and a five-week film series.

Classes begin on April 1 on the campus of New England College in Henniker. These are short-term, non-credit courses designed for retired and younger adults to enlighten and entertain.

Concord St. Patrick’s Day Potluck March 13

Join your fellow Irishman (even if it’s only for the day) for an St. Patrick’s Day Potluck at GoodLife Programs & Activities.

Bring a dish to share and enjoy some green punch, goodies with some games and trivia thrown in for fun.

The potluck is March 13 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required.

Henniker A Matter of Balance beings March 13

“A Matter of Balance” helps adults view falls and the fear of falling as controllable, change the environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.

A new eight-week program, offered by Concord Regional VNA, will be held at the Henniker Community Center, 57 Main St., beginning March 13. The program will run weekly on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon through May 1.

There is no fee to attend this program and space is limited. Registration is required.
