Is there a need for additional federal government financial COVID relief? Yes. Are the Democrats saying the Republicans are blocking that support? Yes. That is because it is true, but why?

In the first $4 trillion of relief, everyone knew, no matter what was in the package, it was going to be ultimately approved. Knowing that, the Democrats packed it full of pork. Two examples: Over $300 million for the National Endowment for the Arts and over $25 million for the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Can someone tell me what do they have to do with COVID financial relief?

Now their current request is for an additional $1.9 trillion. In the Democratsโ€™ latest proposal there is again hundreds of millions for the National Endowment for the Arts and, more critical, there is hundreds of billions to bail out failed, mostly โ€œblueโ€ state programs.

Again, I am not saying the National Endowment for the Arts is not worthy, nor am I saying that many โ€œblueโ€ states and cities need assistance due to poor management. My question remains: What do these have to do with COVID financial relief?

All I am asking is to address each issue and situation on its own merit. The Democrats are trying to link many pet projects and unrelated needs and to cover them under the COVID umbrella. It does spin the story their way, but it is deceitful, misleading, and just plain wrong.
