Boys’ Basketball

Bow 69, ConVal 52

Key players: Bow – Jake Reardon (36 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists), Peyton Larrabee (12 points, 10 rebounds), Brendan O’Keeffe (7 points)

Coach’s quote:  “I thought we played good in spurts in the first half by using our height and athleticism. In the second half, Jake Reardon took control of the game and finished the game off.  Still some little things to clean up, but I feel we took some good steps forward. Great team win with everyone contributing offensively and defensively. The break gives us a chance to get healthy.” – Bow’s Scott Drapeau

Plymouth 48, John Stark 43

Key players:  John Stark – Logan Montgomery (15 points), Cedar Beaupre (10 points), Aiden Harris (7 points, 6 steals), Donnie White (8 rebounds)

Highlights: The Generals lost a 27-16 halftime lead at home against the Bobcats.

Coach’s quote: “I thought we had a very good first half and our defensive intensity was good throughout. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score the ball in the second half, even with good looks. Give Plymouth credit, they really came out battling in the second half.” – John Stark’s Mike Smith

Kennett 56, Merrimack Valley 47

Key players: Kennett – Daven Bailey (16 points) Allen Young (15 points); MV – Aiden Gray (18 points), Logan Gabour (14 points)

Highlights: The Pride led 24-23 at halftime, but Kennett opened the third quarter on a run that gave the Eagles the lead and they held it the rest of the way.

Franklin 55, Nute 34

Key players:  Franklin – Zeke McCoy (season-high 22 points)

Highlights: The Tornadoes trailed 13-12 at the end of the first quarter, but opened the second with an 11-0 to take a 27-21 halftime lead and extended it to 45-29 heading into the fourth. Nathan Holmes, Cody Williams and Matt Nason came off the bench to spark the 11-0 run. All 13 Franklin players saw time on the floor and nine made the scoresheet. 

Records: Franklin 2-3; Nute 0-6

Girls’ Basketball

Bow 50, ConVal 18

Key players: Bow – Bry Szepan (13 points), Kate Labrecque (10 points), Juliette Tarsa (6 points)  

Highlights:  The Falcons dominated their final game of the regular season in 2023.

Records: Bow 2-1; ConVal 0-4

John Stark 68, Plymouth 26

Key players: John Stark – Haley Stafford (12 points, 5 assists), Kylie Dinan (9 points), Abby Duclos (9 points)

Highlights: The Generals led 27-1 after the first quarter and held on for a commanding victory. Stark had 11 players score points in the win and the Generals also did a good job limiting turnovers.

Records: John Stark 2-1; Plymouth 1-3

Merrimack Valley 51, Kennett 40

Key players: MV – Kayla Smith (36 points, 16 rebounds), Izzy Navoy (10 points)

Highlights: MV trailed the defending champions 20-4 after the first quarter and 32-15 at halftime, but cut the deficit to 38-34 through three quarters.

Coach’s quote: “Struggled early, got down 17 and didn’t do anything well. Made a few adjustments and told the girls to believe in each other and we stormed back. Team defending and rebounding turned the tide for us, and we believed in each other.” – MV’s Bob McNutt
