Thank you, Dr. Laura Fry, for your letter in Sunday’s Monitor, “Staying home for Christmas.” We certainly are staying at home this Christmas, also wearing our masks, distancing, and washing hands when getting groceries – the only place we go.

This virus is nasty in more ways than one, and I don’t want it. We are old enough to remember past pandemics with no vaccines. One either survived or they did not. Thank goodness a vaccine is on the way thanks to the huge effort by many, and we will sign right up to get it.

I am concerned with the blasé attitude by some. This is not about the Constitution, politics, or freedom. It is about the safety and welfare of everyone.

So, “think outside the box” and have a nice Christmas and New Year’s. It is what it is, so make the best of the situation.
