The column by Katherine Rogers (Monitor Opinion, Dec. 9) was truly disturbing. Of course I recognized the behavior she describes, but I haven’t experienced it since junior high. I dare say most of the offenders were boys. That kind of teasing and false bravado wasn’t usually done by the girls.

I understand that Donald Trump supporters are bitterly disappointed. After all, we Democrats experienced that four years ago. But lying about the stealing of an election is doing them no credit. It there was fraud why has no Trump lawyer claimed fraud in court? Perhaps they know that lying to a judge has more immediate consequences than repeatedly lying to the American people.

And where is the courage in not wearing a mask to protect yourself and others? Do you think you look brave, or smart? In fact, in the face of over 280,000 deaths of fellow citizens, you look selfish and childish.

It is past time for the grownups in the room tell the children to behave. It would be best if it came from fellow Republicans.
