OUR ENVIRONMENT NEEDS MORE LOCAL REPORTING

The Concord Monitor is launching its Environmental Reporting Lab, a long-term effort to better inform the community about the New Hampshire environment. To launch phase 1 of this effort, we need your help. The money raised will go toward hiring a full-time environmental reporter.

Please consider donating to this effort.

On Oct. 9, NH Federal Credit Union hosted its annual Johnny Appleseed Fall Festival at a new location, Carter Hill Orchard in Concord. Activities included a free scavenger hunt for children ages 12 and under; live music with Mike Morris; free balloon twisting and meet and greets with fairy and sleepy princess from Party Palace; free educational information from Pope Memorial SPCA and NH Audubon; and a raffle for adults. To top it off, Carter Hill’s views of foliage were at our famous New Hampshire’s peak colors. NHFCU would like to thank everyone who donated to Make-A-Wish New Hampshire during the event. They also extend special thanks to Carter Hill Orchard for giving us the opportunity to host the event with them this year.

NHFCU’s Johnny Appleseed Junior Ecology club is open for children ages 12 and under. Children are encouraged to save and learn about ecology. For more information on membership and incentives, please contact NHFCU at (603) 224-7731.
