■The South Pittsfield Community Club will hold a Turkey Supper on Ssturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse, 444 Dowboro Road. The menu is “all you can eat” turkey, stuffing, butternut squash, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, rolls, drinks and homemade pies! Adults cost $10, children ages 6 to 12 are $6 and under age 6 is free.
■Harvestfest, sponsored by Parks & Rec Committee, will be held on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the F.B. Argue Recreation Area (town beach). Rain date is Oct. 20. ■The PES PTO-sponsored Trunk-or-Treat will be held Saturday at the PMHS student parking lot from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trunk set up is from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Non-perishable food donations will be collected for PES Food for Kids. Win a prize for best decorated trunk, best costume and best carved pumpkin. Bring your carved pumpkin to be lit and displayed.
■The Pittsfield Historical Society continues to raise funds for the new museum and headquarters. A commemorative garden on the museum grounds is being worked on. A “buy-a-brick” project affords an opportunity for people to buy a brick to honor yourself, loved ones past or present or whomever you wish to remember. ■Pittsfield Historical Society 2020 calendar theme is Transportation in Pittsfield. The methods of transportation evolved over time and the calendar has many examples: wagons, trains, bicycles, early cars, motorcycles, and busses. There is also a unique picture of an airplane, piloted by Harry N. Atwood, that landed beside Dr. Frank Sargent’s rehabilitation center at 22 Catamount Road. There is a brief history explaining each picture. Cost is $10 and is available at the society and town hall.
