Two recent New England College graduates living together in Miami, Florida were killed in what authorities are calling a double murder-suicide over the weekend.

Sidney Capolino, 23, and Meghan Moore, 25, were both found shot after police were called to the area near the 7000 block of Southwest 40th Street around 8:53 p.m. Saturday, according to Miami-Dade police in a press release. Police say Moore’s boyfriend shot and killed both women before fatally shooting himself.

When police arrived, they found Moore shot outside the apartment and while officers tried to help her, they heard another gunshot from inside the building, Miami-Dade police reported.

Authorities evacuated the apartment building and the police department’s special response team was called to go inside. Officers found Capolino shot inside the apartment, as well as 40-year-old Luis Napoles, who shot himself, police said. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Capolino and Moore had graduated from New England College in 2022 and 2021, respectively, and both played ice hockey. Moore was from Centerville, Mass., a 2017 graduate of Barnstable High School, according to her online student-athlete profile. Capolino was from Pawling, N.Y.

“Meghan and Sidney were known to many on campus, and we are deeply saddened by this devastating news,” New England College President Wayne Lesperance Jr. said in a statement. “We are keeping Sidney and Meghan’s families and friends in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
