Letter; In Ward 10, vote for Rice Hawkins

Published: 3/2/2019 12:01:33 AM

My name is Zandra Rice Hawkins, and I am running for Concord City Council Ward 10 in the special election on Tuesday, March 5.

As a young professional working in the heart of downtown for the last 12 years, I am pleased by developments I believe will entice more interest in Concord. As a mother, I am eager to make sure our local parks and attractions stay updated and accessible to all. As a community member, I know our city is only as strong as the public services that keep it running. Our families and small businesses deserve our best, including having enough first responders and equipment to keep our families and community safe.

Concord is on the right track, attracting more businesses and expanding our revenue base, investing in local neighborhood initiatives, and establishing the goal of transitioning the city to 100 percent clean and renewable energy. It’s this long-term planning and vision that has made Concord a strong city over the years.

As a city councilor, I will work to support these efforts and keep a critical eye toward ensuring our investments and focus extend to all Concord neighborhoods.

I am proud to be endorsed by Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky, state Sen. Dan Feltes, state Reps. Katherine Rogers and Christy Bartlett, and the Professional Firefighters of Concord Local 1045. Details on my endorsements, professional experience and events can be found at VoteZandra.com.

Thank you, and I hope I can count on your vote on Tuesday.
