Stand up against violence

The Zonta Club of Concord would like to thank all the downtown Concord businesses that proudly placed the “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women” stickers in their windows during the 16 Days of Activism, Nov. 25 to Dec. 10. Intimate partner violence has to stop. It hurts our families, our communities, our economy. Part of our work is to raise awareness around these issues. The victims of these crimes need to be supported, not blamed or shamed. Perpetrators need to be held accountable for their actions. We need to prevent this violence from happening in the first place. We all do better when people are safe in their homes and communities. Primary prevention starts with individuals and communities being empowered to speak up and against violence. To this end, we are appreciative of all the downtown Concord businesses that stand with us.
