“Vote person over party,” we often hear. Not this year! When far-right Republicans, self-proclaimed Free Staters, dominate the NH House. The only immediate way to combat their extremism is to elect a majority of Democrats. In Newbury/New London that means Greg Sargent (and incumbent Karen Ebel). Re-electing a moderate from each party is a not a wise compromise. If the far right still controls the House, that will only give us two ineffective representatives, one with her party in the minority, the other with no influence in his party.
I’m a native of NH’s North Country and a 19-year resident of New London, with an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School. My two children graduated from Kearsarge Regional High School. Before retiring I held leadership positions at The Fells, Ledyard National Bank and New London Hospital. I have served on boards of the KLS Community Food Pantry, the Kearsarge Chorale, the Lake Sunapee Protective Association, the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. I actively care about our state and communities, and I fear the direction we are headed if we fail to change course. If you live in Newbury/New London, vote for Greg Sargent to help get us back on track. Greg is a UNH graduate, an attorney and a business leader. He is young (in his 40s), smart and concerned for all. If you live elsewhere, I urge you also to support Democrats this election.
