Letter: Keep up the good work

In a dismaying time of incredible shrinking newspapers, the Monitor has performed a valuable public service by running some especially well-written and informative stories. I’m referring to articles in the Dec. 31 edition, one by Jamie Costa on the heart-wrenching situation of Alexandra Eckersley and her family, another by Sruthi Gopalakrishnan on the mounds of solid waste piling up in New Hampshire (much of it from out of state), and a My Turn by Sam Evans-Brown on energy options.

All three point out some very serious failings by state government, which too often is far too proud of itself. Also, a shout-out to David Brooks for his continuing series of science articles that alone are worth a big share of the subscription price.
