Field Hockey

Kennett 1, Merrimack Valley 0

Key players: MV – Lauren Bailey (midfield), Kaiya Mercier (midfield), Hannah Butler (offense), Grace Thompson (offense), Caroline Wheeler (solid defense)

Highlights:  Much of the match play occurred in the middle third of the field, and MV had a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners, but Kennett scored off a deflection on the weak side post off a cross four minutes into the game.

Coach’s quote:  “Today was a tough loss against a talented Kennett team. We dug ourselves into a hole early and couldn’t climb out. We had a lot of opportunities in the second half, but did not finish. I will give my team credit, they never stopped playing until the final whistle.” – MV’s Jen Colgan

Records:  Kennett 11-2-0; MV 6-5-2
