Letter: School board meeting April 1: No fooling

Published: 03-26-2024 2:49 PM

The Concord School Board continues to squander taxpayer dollars, run roughshod over public opinion, and demolish community trust by pushing ahead with plans to build a new middle school at Broken Ground, at a cost of $176 million. A current petition, calling on the board to rescind its December 2023 vote to build at Broken Ground, now has over 1,000 signatures (see the petition ad in the current Monitor, which has a QR code).

That’s a significant number that will only get bigger. The next meeting of the school board is April 1. Citizens would be foolish not to show up and express their consternation at being ignored by their elected officials. It’s harder to ignore people than petitions.
