Letter: Rooming house welcome addition

Published: 04-08-2024 5:00 PM

I was pleased to read Michaela Towfighi’s article regarding the efforts of Next Step Living, Inc. to create a rooming house for adults living with developmental disabilities in the Concord community. As executive director of Fellowship Housing Opportunities, Inc. I would like to inform readers that we have been focused on housing adults living with severe mental illness in the Concord community since our incorporation in 1966. We are proud to be part of the portfolio of independent living in the Concord community by owning and operating seven housing projects.

Fellowship House provides 24-hour care to twelve adults living with severe mental illness, while our six other buildings located in the greater downtown Concord area provide affordable, supportive housing to fifty-one low-income individuals living with mental illness. We look forward to working with another organization to address the critical demand for supportive housing in our community.
