Letter: Goodlander for CD2

I wholeheartedly support Maggie Goodlander for Congress.

Her broad experience and devotion to public service is unique and valuable. She’s a veteran. She served in all three branches of our government. She clerked at the Supreme Court. She was foreign policy adviser to Sen. John McCain, working on a bipartisan basis to pass comprehensive immigration reform through the Senate and sanction Putin. She served as House counsel to impeach Trump. In the Justice Department she fought corporate monopolies.

Goodlander is 100% pro-choice. She suffered her own pregnancy loss, struggling to receive care post-Roe. The day Roe fell, she helped launch a Justice Department Reproductive Rights Task Force to evaluate laws threatening federal protections for reproductive care, including laws imposing criminal penalties on patients and providers and laws banning/limiting access to mifepristone.

She knows the Constitution and taught it at UNH Law and Dartmouth. She’s served on the boards of NH Women’s Foundation, NH Legal Assistance and NH World Affairs Council and worked in NH Drug Court and Family Court. She understands the issues. She’s a good listener. She’s traveled allover the district to meet people, answer questions, get new insights into what Granite Staters care about.

NH has been her family’s home for generations. The family tradition of public service runs deep. Born and raised here, Goodlander’s work promoting fairness, justice and integrity has benefited Granite Staters. This positive, vibrant woman whose keen analytical and pragmatic abilities are important to address the complexities our government faces is the best candidate.
