Letter: Kelly Ayotte is the best choice

In 2023 the New Hampshire Journal published an article regarding three-term Mayor Joyce Craig’s performance in office. They disclosed a report from the nonprofit Truth in Accounting Project, which analyzes government budgets and revealed what the public books would show if industry practices were followed. This report showed she left behind $276 million in debt, a hole in city budgeting most taxpayers knew nothing about. That type of debt and tax hiding is hurting taxpayers and harming communities. Craig’s vitriolic and false claims regarding Kelly Ayotte’s stance on reproductive rights are scare tactics designed to keep the public from taking a close look at the myriad failures of her tenure in Manchester.

Kelly Ayotte is a responsible, intelligent, and pragmatic person who understands that her constituents will be the citizens of the entire state, not just the people who voted for her. She supports the current New Hampshire laws regarding reproduction. She will not condone irresponsible spending that will put a further strain on her constituents resources. Additionally, her post grad degrees are from accredited universities, not “honorary.” I encourage all votes to not rely on the baseless claims of commercials and do a bit of research. Kelly Ayotte will make a wonderful governor for all the people of New Hampshire. I hope you will cast your vote for her in November.
