Letter: Joyce Craig for governor

Joyce Craig may not have been my first or second choice in the Democratic primary. However, it is critical that we support her in the general election. This race is about far more than personal preferences, it’s about the future direction of New Hampshire and ensuring we elect a leader who will prioritize the needs of all citizens and work hard for our collective future. Craig has been a staunch advocate for policies that benefit working families across the state. Most notably, she has pledged to protect reproductive rights by codifying abortion access into state law, an essential safeguard in today’s volatile political climate. She also supports equitable education reform and plans to tackle the state’s housing crisis by expanding affordable housing options for those who need them most.

Moreover, Craig has demonstrated her commitment to addressing the opioid epidemic, offering innovative solutions such as enhancing mental health services and increasing cooperation between state and local officials. These are not abstract promises; these are policies that will make a real difference in the lives of Granite Staters and offer hope to those struggling with addiction and mental health issues. While some of us may have initially supported other candidates, this election is too important to let division prevail. Joyce Craig’s platform reflects the needs of our state, and her focus on working families, education, and public health makes her the strongest candidate in this race. I urge all voters to rally behind her to secure a brighter future for New Hampshire.
