Letter: Free pass for Russia’s convicted war criminals?

Russia’s atrocities in Ukraine are gradually being documented. The World Health Organization, the UN, the International Criminal Court of The Hague (ICC), and the U.S. DOJ are in Ukraine collecting evidence of Russia’s war crimes. ICC arrest warrants for six Russian officials, including Putin himself, have been issued. War crimes still under investigation include execution of thousands of civilians; execution of POWs; forced deportation of thousands of children; use of prohibited chemical weapons; torture of civilians; and attacks on schools, houses, and hundreds of hospitals.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is pushing Vladimir Putin’s “peace plan” to end the war. Russia keeps all the territory it has stolen to date, Ukraine can never join NATO, and all legal actions against Russia and its war criminals are dropped. Did The Munich Agreement of 1938 teach Trump nothing about giving in to the demands of a totalitarian dictator? The Putin/ Trump plan is nothing more than a complete Ukrainian surrender; not just of territory, but also of people. Millions of Ukrainian people in occupied territories would become property of Vladimir Putin to do with as he pleases behind a 21st century iron curtain. Have a strong stomach? See pictures of the Bucha and Izyum massacres where 2,000+ civilians were tortured and killed to grasp the significance of this. Whatever other reasons there are for keeping Donald Trump out of the White House again, the lives of millions of innocent Ukrainians absolutely depend on it.
