Letter: Qualifications to be U.S. president

I have been compiling a list since the election. It became clear to me that unless you meet all of these qualifications, you cannot be president of the U.S. One, being convicted of 30+ felonies. Two, inciting an insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. Three, bragging on media about molesting women. Four, dodging the military draft. Five, being convicted of civil fraud. Six, lying 40+ times at a National Convention. Seven, mocking people who have a disability. Eight, disparaging prisoners of war. Nine, using vulgar, obscene language in multiple speeches while running for office. Ten, threatening vengeance against all political opponents.

It will be important for teachers to incorporate these into their civics’ curriculum so that school children will know what to focus on if they dream of becoming president of the United States. We understand why Kamala Harris lost the election. She just didn’t qualify.
