Letter: Just leave squirrels and raccoons alone please

I read the article about upcoming legislation coming our way. The bill by Rep. James Spillane is perplexing. He is the same legislator who got in trouble and made national news for blowing a gray squirrel into smithereens out of season off of his bird feeder, then used the image to taunt vegan animal activists. He also just last year co-sponsored a bill which would allow the thrill-killing of gray squirrels (including pregnant and baby squirrels) 365 days a year and strip them of any protections. Now he wants to be able to keep one as a pet?

Would you want to be a squirrel in his household? Also raccoons he wants as pets, using a sensationalist story out of NY to do a joke bill in NH and waste taxpayers money. Every bill filed costs us all money. Rep. Spillane cares about squirrels and raccoons as much as he cares about his constituents in my opinion, basically zero.
