I attended the Webster sunrise service and breakfast with my daughter, Amy, and my husband, Harold. I am the person pictured in the red coat (Monitor front page, March 29).
Amy was very pleased to have sung her favorite song, “He Arose.” When I got home, I checked the 1983 Webster history to determine when the first service was held there. I was there when Rev. John Dame played his trumpet. He was minister from 1946 to 1948. That would make it about 70 years ago. I would have been about 11.
At that time, there was only our farm on the road. Over the years, I have attended many sunrise services there.
