A pair of first-period goals doomed the Manchester Monarchs for the second night in a row, as they fell to the Wheeling Nailers, 2-1, on Saturday.

Riley Brace scored for the Nailers (35-26-4-4) just 2:47 into the game and Justin McCarron doubled the lead at 13:06.

Matt Fornataro pulled the Monarchs (38-23-4-5) within one midway through the second period, but that concluded the scoring for the game.
