Letters continue to be printed for and against Republican Kelly Ayotte’s shocking stand on Senate confirmation of a nominee to the Supreme Court. I’d like to add my voice, one of those who voted for Obama in 2012 thinking I was voting for a four-year term.
If President Obama, re-elected in 2012, no longer represents the will of the people, how can Kelly Ayotte, elected in 2010 for a six-year term, believe she still represents the current thinking of the people of New Hampshire?
What’s sauce for the gander should be sauce for the goose. (Yes, I know there’s a slight reversal to that old saying.)
In light of what’s going on with the Republicans these days, perhaps the confirmation should be hurried along right now, before the circus comes to town.
