A fire at a Loudon Road apartment in Concord has temporarily displaced one adult and two children.
The Concord Fire Department received a call about a kitchen fire at Morning Star Condominiums about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. That complex is located on Loudon Road, just minutes from the nearest fire station.
Battalion Chief Bill Weinhold said crews were on scene in minutes and quickly knocked down the blaze. No one was injured. A family lives in the apartment, Weinhold said, but he did not believe anyone was home at the time.
“All in all, it was fairly minor,” Weinhold said Tuesday night.
Fire damage was contained to the second-floor apartment, though Weinhold said a few other units likely sustained minor smoke and water damage. He anticipated any displaced residents would be able to return to their homes within a day or two.
The American Red Cross was on scene as well. According to a press release, the organization was assisting one adult and two children after the fire.
“Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the family and provide referrals as they begin their road to recovery,” the press release said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
