Binghamton scored all four of its runs with two outs on Friday as the Mets beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 4-1.
Rowdy Tellez hit his team-leading third home run of the season for the lone Fisher Cats run.
Tellez’s homer leading off the fifth was the only hit allowed by Mets starter Rainy Lara (2-2). Lara walked two and struck out three. The only other hit in the game for the Fisher Cats was a single by K. C. Hobson in the eighth against reliever Beck Wheeler, who earned the save.
Binghamton (10-9), winners of five straight, scored twice in the top of the first, once in the third and once more in the fifth to build a 4-0 lead.
Jason Berken fell to 0-4 with the loss. He allowed four runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out one. Murphy Smith worked two scoreless innings and Wil Browning recorded a perfect ninth in relief for the Fisher Cats (7-12).
