Caleb Mercier scored a nice goal to cut the lead to one at the end of the first half, and despite excellent defense from Will Angarella, Derryfield proved to be too much and handed the Bow JV boys’ lacrosse team its second loss of the season.
The Concord Crush Orange defeated Seacoast girls’ A, 8-6, in U11 lacrosse action. Luiza Detwiller scooped up many ground balls, Meg Bohan played midfield and helped set up two goals for her teammates and Morgan Casey scored her first goal of the season, catching a great pass on the run.
The Bow Soccer Club U11 girls (2-0) defeated Hudson, 2-1. Lyndsey LaPerle and Meghan Wray scored for Bow. Isabella LaPerle and Megan Landcastle anchored the defense, while the duo of Catherine Windsor and Alex Larrabee contributed excellent saves in goal.
Merrimack County Savings Bank defeated Outfitters from Concord Northeast, 7-5, in a Concord American softball game. For MCSB, Kaitlyn Spinney made a great double play as well as playing great defense all game. Elizabeth Blinn pitched a great game and Lillian Rienstra hit two home runs. Alexis Flynn was great on the mound for the Outfitters and Sarah Jenness played great defense.
Loudon Country Club’s opening scramble saw a three-way tie for first place with a score of 21. Team One was Joan and Mark Jenkins, Dave Huckins Sr. and Dave Huckins Jr. Team Two was Matt and Katie Jordan, Don Proulx and Don Carter. Team Three was Sue Witham, Ken Lorden, Karen Brickner and Josh Richardson.
New London’s Steph Bonewald scored two goals for the St. Michael’s women’s lacrosse team in a 10-8 loss to Bentley, and scored once in a 10-6 loss to AIC. Bonewald, who tied the school record for career games played (60), finished third in program history in draw controls (128), fourth in caused turnovers (57) and 11th in ground balls (103), coming within one ground ball of the top 10.
The St. Paul’s School boys’ tennis team fell to Andover, 7-0. Liam Li had the closest matches, losing at No. 6 singles, 8-5, and at No. 3 doubles with Richard Li, 8-4.
The Tilton School girls’ varsity lacrosse team lost to Holderness, 15-4. Ally Joly, Tia Raspante and Kayley Hughes scored for the Rams. Elyssa Rosengard, Concord’s Stasia Bogacz and Izzy Moffroid were solid on defense.
