State police say a man was driving south on Interstate 89 Wednesday evening traveling 120 mph.

William Cole, 25, of Kattskill Bay, N.Y., was arrested on charges of reckless driving, reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and driving under the influence of drugs.

State police clocked Cole going 120 mph in a 2015 Kia sedan near New London, according to a press release. State police say Cole did not pull over for the trooper and a chase ensued.

Another trooper, stationed on I-89 near Warner, used deflation device to puncture one of the car’s tires. Cole pulled over another couple of miles down the road and was placed under arrest.

Cole was transported to Concord Hospital because state police suspected he was under the influence of drugs.

State police say an investigation is ongoing and bail had not been set as of Wednesday night.

Sutton and New London police departments assisted the state police.
