Massachusetts State Police scheduled a disciplinary hearing for a trooper involved in a 50-mile car chase that ended with a violent takedown of the suspect in New Hampshire.

Department spokesman David Procopio says the unnamed trooper was scheduled to have a closed-door hearing Friday afternoon.

The trooper was relieved of duty Thursday pending the hearing, which is meant to determine whether he’ll be suspended or placed on another work status as the investigation continues.

An unnamed New Hampshire state trooper was also suspended after the pursuit Wednesday that started in Holden, Mass., and ended in Nashua.

Richard Simone Jr., of Worcester, Mass., was arrested after he stepped out of his truck, kneeled and put his hands on the ground. News helicopter footage shows officers punch him repeatedly.
