National security requires leadership, and Gov. Maggie Hassan lacks it.

There are no examples from her time as governor that point to her having to make tough decisions for New Hampshire that would translate to her making tough decisions as our senator. As national security is the most important issue our federal government deals with, it is important that New Hampshire has a national security leader to the Senate who we can trust to make these tough decisions.

Our U.S. senator is going to confront votes on funding and resources for our men and women in uniform, how we handle foreign threats, and what we do to protect our homeland. These decisions should not be taken lightly, nor should we trust them to someone who lacks the judgment, leadership, and experience to handle them.

Gov. Hassan has failed to lead when it comes to telling voters where she stands on tough issues like this, so Granite State voters should not trust her to make such important decisions in the U.S. Senate. Her record lacks leadership and that is not what we need from our U.S. senator.
