Ethan Bryson was the winning pitcher in both games as the Winnisquam JV baseball team beat Gilford and Inter-Lakes last week. The Bears beat Gilford 11-5 behind the offensive work of Matt Ivester (double, two hits, three runs, RBI), Dante Gentile (two hits, four RBI) and Adam Dunham (hit, run). Winnisquam beat Inter-Lakes 11-4 with help from Alex Mango (three runs, hit, RBI), Devan Glover (double, run, RBI) and Noah Smith (double, run, two RBI).
The Concord High freshman softball team picked up a win, 21-3, at Exeter. Elise O’Neil (four IP, 4 strikeouts) got the win in the circle. Carly Torrance pitched an inning in relief. Paige Weatherbee (three hits, double, three RBI), Mia Harmon (four hits, three doubles, six RBI), Kara Laramee (three hits, three RBI) and Evanthia Daukopulos (two RBI) led the offense.
The Concord freshman baseball team lost to Nashua South, 2-1. Adrien Kennedy went seven innings with seven strikeouts in the losing effort. Kennedy, Tyler Bruns, Cam Thompson , Zack Gamble and Winsor Bean all had hits.
Dick’s Sporting Goods defeated Penacook Pharmacy in a Capital Area AAA softball game. Sarah Taylor had a great game pitching with 11 strikeouts. Tess Mulkerron scored two runs while Molly Page got on base three times. For Penacook Pharmacy, Kayla Smith had 11 strikeouts. Olivia Seeley caught a great game and Mia Wagner played well defensively.
Storm’s Fitness defeated Concord Family Vision, 5-2. Reese Bove of Storm’s had a great hit, while Ella Martel and Cassidy Follansbee both scored a run. Martel also made a great play at second base. For Concord Family Vision, Alexis Johns and Sarah Lund had strong hits. Courtney Renaud made a nice play at second base, making the third out in the last inning.
Vermette Othodontics and Suncook played in a AAA Capital Area softball game. For Vermette, Ally McGonigle, Brooke Wyatt and Grace Smith made some key plays in the field, and Wren Amrol led the offense with a big hit. For Suncook, Ava Tyler played great behind the plate. Olivia Bryson and Lilly Kazanewski made some good defensive plays.
In CNE majors action, Banks Chevrolet topped the Metzger McGuire Gators, 10-3. Banks had fantastic pitching from Bryce Miller and AJ Fennelly. The offense was led by Fennelly, Brady Rice, and Donovan Hayes. Hayes had a two-run double to keep a rally alive in the fifth inning. Stellar defense was played by Rice as well as Jacob Plante and Logan Mayo.
The Gallagher, Callahan, and Gartrell AAA Little League team record their first win over the Northeast Credit Union, 11-10. GC&G stole home twice during the game (Lucas Tibbetts and Kaleb Cullen). Luksar Muyiha had two RBI and a home run. Liam Heatherman and Grace Orr each scored three runs, and Heatherman had seven strikeouts from the mound.
In AAA baseball action, Lucky’s Barbershop defeated The Convenient MD Rattlers, 12-5. For Lucky’s, Levi Madison scored three runs. Mason Bolduc had a great hit and Parker Lavoie played a good game. For Convenient MD, Cody Sharron and Nolan Staples-Roy played well.
In Concord Little League AAA action, KM Cheney Concrete lost a battle in extra innings to Concord Search and Retrieval, 7-6. Owen Burrell led KM Cheney on the mound, pitching five solid innings. Burrell also reached base twice, knocking in two runs. At the plate, Nate Mullen drove in four runs, including a bases-clearing triple. Saige Laroche led the team on defense.
In Cal Ripken Majors action, the Bow Audley Construction Astros defeated the Bow Constantly Pizza Reds. Zach Doward (four RBI), Kyle Martin (home run, two RBI) and Andrew Bliss (two RBI) led the offense. Alex Boisvert, Andrew Bliss and Kyle Martin combined for a one-hitter.
The Bow Rec Royals beat the Bow Rec Angels in t-ball action. the Royals’ Ben Reardon (4-for-4) started the game off with a triple while Isabelle and Sophia Lee (both 4-for-4) made some great plays in field. The Angels’ Dylan Osterveen had two home runs and William Knight had a great hit.
The Bow Rec Astros beat the Orioles in t-ball action. The Astros were led by Kate Roberge (4-for-4) and George Kohl (4-for-4), who both made great plays in the field. The Orioles’ Ian Sandahl and Connor Holland played great defensively for the Orioles while Jack Shulman (4-for-4) and Ryan Oberman (4-for-4) hit well.

The Tilton School varsity baseball team won the consolation bracket of the Lakes Region Championship with a 5-2 victory over Vermont Academy. Trevor Frederick pitched a complete game five-hitter and was in control the whole game. Danny Beaton (RBI), Cole Winkelmann and Nick Callahan each had two hits, while Jack Morretti and Shea Nugent each made spectacular defensive plays to help secure the win.
Dave Perry and Peter Annon won the two-ball best ball event at Concord Country Club with a score of 57. John McMurray and Bruce Burns took second place after shooting 59. Jim Steenbeke and Kraig Burnham were third with a 61 and there was a tie for fourth between the team of John McMurray and Phil Wise and the team of Bob Mielcarz and TJ Whitelaw with both teams shooting 62.
The ladies of Concord Country Club played a Nassau event where the lowest net front nine score, back nine score, and 18 hole score all win. Andy Jalbert, Jan Monahan, and Sherry Young all tied for the lowest front nine score of 36. Jean VerPlanck had the lowest back nine score of 33 and Cheryl Murphy had the lowest 18 hole score of 71.
