State police made two seperate arrests on drug possession charges Saturday at a safety and sobriety checkpoint in Bow at the intersection of I-89, Route 3A and Hall Street.
Malcolm Jahandideh, 22, of Manchester was charged with a felony because police believe he was in possession of a narcotic drug, pending lab results.
Brendan Willis, 19, of Concord was also arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for possesion of drugs.
State police, with assistance from the state Liquor Enforcement, screened 192 vehicles in all. The checkpoint was opened about 10 p.m. Saturday and closed 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the checkpoints are “a tool to deter, detect and apprehend persons while driving when intoxicated.”
