After losing five in a row and eight of the last 10, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats held off the Reading Fightin’ Phils with a 3-1 win in Manchester on Saturday.
Roemon Fields, Dwight Smith Sr., and Rowdy Tellez drove in runs for the Fisher Cats (21-26), while Shane Dawson picked up the win on the mound, giving up one run on four hits over six innings. In 1 of relief, Murphy Smith allowed one hit and struck out one to pick up his second save.
Reading (33-16) will be back in Manchester today at 6:05 p.m.
