PENACOOK Farmers market returns

The Penacook Village Farmers Market will begin its seventh year Monday. The market, open from 4 to 6:30 p.m., will run each Monday through Aug. 29 at 11 Penacook St. This week’s entertainment is Audrey and Clayton, performing original folk music on fiddle and piano. The Penacook Historical Society will meet Wednesday at the Rolfe House, 11 Penacook St. A potluck supper begins at 6 p.m.; the meeting is at 7 p.m. Althea Barton will show highlights of oral history interviews filmed over the last few years. All are welcome.

Penacook Village Association will hold a general membership meeting Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Rolfe House, 11 Penacook St. Topics will include the opening of the Penacook Farmers Market; the Guyette Pool rededication at Rolfe Park on June 16, at 5:30 p.m.; the progress of the Friends of Poulin Park Gazebo project; flower barrel sponsors; new banners in the village; and other general business. EAST SIDE Mall in search of local craftpersons, artists

Concord Grange 322 will host Pomona Grange at its meeting Monday at 7 p.m. at the I.B.E.W. Hall, 48 Airport Road. The Picnic in the Park will be July 26 with a hotdog festival and homemade desserts. “Higgedly Piggledy,” a production of four comedic acts by playwright Donald Tongue, will be performed at the Hatbox Theatre at the Steeplegate Mall through June 12. SOUTH END Sacred Heart to close

 

Today is the official closing Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Bishop Libasci will be the main celebrant at the Mass, which will take place at 2 p.m. At the end of the Mass, there will be an official “decommissioning” of the church with prayers being offered at significant areas of the church. Come help us say “adieu” to this cherished Concord landmark. A sentimental farewell to Sacred Heart Church.

The N.H.
