Will Ayotte choose Trump?

Demagogue Donald Trump’s candidacy, as historian Robert Kagan accurately describes it, represents the rise of American fascism.

Trump’s message of hate began with his leadership of the racist “birther” movement, a contemptible and discredited attempt to delegitimize the presidency of Barack Obama by fraudulently claiming that President Obama wasn’t born in this country.

Now Trump’s exposed himself as a racist, once again, to the entire world by asserting that U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel is incapable of treating him “fairly” in the so-called Trump University case because of the judge’s Hispanic heritage. That’s outrageous.

Trump’s fatally damaged his own campaign and proven himself utterly unfit to occupy the White House. Trump, like a raving lunatic, implied that President Obama’s an ally of ISIS. This is intolerable but hardly surprising given Trump’s authoritarian, unstable and conspiracy-minded mentality, his scapegoating of minority groups, misogyny and the strong support he’s receiving from white supremacists, including David Duke.

Does Kelly Ayotte still intend to vote for this hatemonger? The public has every right to know whether Ayotte intends to continue supporting a bigot like him. If so, the electorate will hold her and other Republican candidates backing Trump accountable. Count on it.
