Seventy-one percent of the American people think the U.S. economic system is “rigged in favor of certain groups,” according to a new poll by Marketplace and Edison Research.
This leaves only 29 percent of the public that doesn’t get it, as the economy is certainly rigged.
Who rigged it? That’s easy – every level of government has it rigged for someone.
Markets can only be rigged through the involvement of government. In a free market, competition will come in and clear out any blocks to competition. Not so once the government gets involved.
Look at any group that you think has an unfair advantage and you will find some deal with the government. Laws are set up so that only certain groups can compete, licensing restrictions are put in place to keep out competition and so on. Look just below the surface and you will find a politician altering market forces.
Don’t look for help in the next election from the major parties. Both have already sold their souls for campaign contributions in exchange for sweet deals. Sure the Republicans will point to the Democrats as sellouts and vice versa. And they will both be right. Both sides are “sold out” already.
So what is the fix? That is easy. Vote Libertarian. They will be right there on the third line of the ballot waiting for your vote for cleaning up the corruption in government. Useless red tape and restrictions put in place to restrict competition will be removed.
