Red Sox pitcher Koji Uehara became the latest Boston relief pitcher to hit the disabled list, the team announced Wednesday.

Uehara, 41, was removed from Tuesday night’s game in Boston against the San Francisco Giants after retiring one batter and throwing one pitch to another. He will join his bullpen counterparts Junichi Tazawa and Craig Kimbrel on the DL.

Uehara is 2-3 this season with a career-high 4.50 ERA. He’s also giving up 2.0 home runs per nine innings and 2.3 walks per nine, also a career high.

In a corresponding move, the Sox have called up Noe Ramirez from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Kimbrel, who underwent surgery on his left knee July 11, is still expected to return before his six-week timeline expires, while Tazawa is expected to return to the team Friday.
