Emilio Guerrero hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, leading the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 6-4 win over the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday.
Chris Smith allowed a run, but got Jordan Smith to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his eighth save of the season.
The home run by Guerrero scored Derrick Loveless to give the Fisher Cats a 4-3 lead.
The Fisher Cats later tacked on a run in both the sixth and eighth innings. In the sixth, Roemon Fields hit an RBI single before he doubled to score C.tian Lopes in the eighth.
Akron saw its comeback attempt come up short after Mike Papi scored on a forceout in the ninth inning to cut the New Hampshire lead to 6-4.
New Hampshire starter Jeremy Gabryszwski (6-8) picked up the win despite allowing three runs over five innings. Opposing starter Nick Pasquale (1-5) took the loss in the Eastern League game after allowing five runs and 12 hits over 5-plus innings.
Despite the loss, Akron is 3-1 against New Hampshire this season.
