There’s a lull today, but Concord’s Main Street construction will pick up where it left off Monday.
Next week, construction crews will excavate trenches for underground utilities and prepare to install curbs from the Concord Food Co-op toward Concord Street and in the medians, according to a press release issued Friday by the Concord Main Street Project.
Work is scheduled in the alley between L&B Tailoring and Outfitters Thrift Store on Monday, when there may be some sidewalk closures on South Main Street. Fayette Street will be closed Tuesday.
Work will continue on Pleasant Street near Pitchfork Records in preparation for curbing.
Paving is scheduled Friday from the north end of the construction zone to the Concord Food Co-op exit.
There’s also a forum planned Thursday for input on the city’s proposed parking recommendations, including increasing the fees and hours of enforcement.
The forum, which begins at 5:30 p.m., is the first of two and “intended for downtown merchants and business people,” according to a press release. A second forum for the public will be held Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
