MANCHESTER, N.H. – Christian Lopes homered and had two hits, driving in two, and Wilmer Font struck out nine hitters over seven innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats topped the Binghamton Mets, 4-1, on Monday.

Binghamton had runners on first and second in the top of the ninth, but Colton Plaia struck out to end the game.

Font (3-0) picked up the win after he walked one while allowing three hits.

New Hampshire started the scoring in the first inning when Lopes hit a solo home run.

After New Hampshire added three runs in the fifth, the Mets cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Plaia scored on a wild pitch.

Tyler Herron (2-5) went seven innings, allowing four runs and nine hits while striking out four.
