The Brochu Nursery Concord Squirt 1 team defeated Belmont, Mass., 3-2. Scoring for the Caps were Henry Brochu, Jordan Dustin, and Chili Cabot. Brochu also provided an assist. Garrett Bishop made some solid saves in net.
Sanel Auto Parts Concord Capitals Peewee 2 fell to Somerville, 6-1. The lone goal was scored by Aiden Ramshaw, assisted by Matthew Tetreault.
The Concord Capitols 11U team defeated the Plymouth Huskies, 43-6. The Capitols offense was led by quarterbacks Liam O’Rourke and Gabe Marquis. Peter Reid, Moses Carr, Jamari Arzu, Jacob Wright, and Marquis ran for scores while Noah Blake scored on a pass from Marquis. Enzo Toscano also had a good game for the Capitols.
The Concord Capitols middle school team defeated Hollis-Brookline, 42-20. Touchdowns were scored by Trevor Smith, Ryan Kastle, Nate Vandersea, Habakku Tarwo and Jackson Tewksbury. Guy Kabate had a great game running the ball and Jarrett Lamereaux also played well.
Three teams tied for first in the two-ball best ball event at Concord Country Club. Scott Towle, Steve Edwards, John Lorden, and Ray Goulet all teamed up to shoot the three low scores of the day. Brian and Griffin Smith shot a 62 to finish fourth.
The Concord Country Club women played a Nassau game with the low front nine score going to Lois Davis with a 33. Mary Ann Cioffi shot the low back nine score with a 36. The low total score went to Sue Perry who shot a 74.
Bow’s Lindsey Nerbonne scored a goal for the University of New Hampshire field hockey team in a 5-3 loss against Indiana.
Loudon’s Warren Bartlett, a sophomore, and Penacook’s Brendan Polichronopoulos, a junior scored the Plymouth State men’s cross country team, leading the Panthers to third in the 14-team University of New England Invitational. Bartlett was the second Panther to cross the finish line and fifth overall, while Polichronopoulos was the third-fastest Panther and 22nd overall in the field of 154 runners.
Concord’s Stephanie Resnick, a freshman on the Union College field hockey team, scored a goal in Union’s 4-3 win over Wheaton College.
The Franklin High School Al’s Village Pizza Athlete’s ff the Week are volleyball player Brianna Judkins and soccer player David Girtman. Judkins had eight digs and four kills in a match in the past week while Girtman made a combined 50 saves in two matches last week.
