Concord (1-2) defeated Manchester Memorial (2-1), 27-18, in a tough football game. Adrian Kennedy led the defense while Seth Malachi, Fletcher Waterman and Will Woods anchored the offense.
The Bishop Brady girls’ JV girls soccer team tied, 0-0, against Inter-Lakes in their third game of the season. Strong overall games from Cheyenne Wright, Allie Savage, and Emlee Sanuth propelled the Green Giants.
Concord’s JV field hockey team lost, 1-0, to Winnacunnet. Mackenzie Muir and Ella Doherty were strong on defense for the Tide.
Bow JV field hockey lost a hard fought game to Plymouth, 2-1. Brennah Gardner scored, while Chiara Petretta and Megan Lavigne were strong in the midfield.
The Rundlett girls’ A volleyball team defeated Elm Street in two tight matches, 25-23, 26-24. The Dukes offense was led by Lilly Equonis, Alexis Flynn, Cathie Gaudette and Emma Nakuci each contributing several aces.
The Henniker Community School girls and boys’ cross country teams competed against seven teams at a meet hosted by Merrimack Valley. Brianna Langdon and Carina Keirstead placed in the top 20 for the girls with Sophia McGinty and Katie Palmateer running strong races. CJ Brennan placed fifth in the boys’ race, followed by Daniel Hilyard, Elijah Day and Alex Keirstead.
The Weare Middle School girls’ soccer team lost to Nashua Catholic, 3-1. Ali Hardcastle scored the first goal of the season for the Wildcats on an assist from Brooke Porth.
The Weare Middle School boys’ soccer team traveled to Nashua and defeated the Academy for Science and Design, 7-1. The Wildcats’ offense was led by Jakob Hardy, who scored 3 goals. Emmet Rinehimer netted two and Aidan Combs chipped in with a goal as well. Austin Hazzard made five saves.
The Franklin Middle School field hockey team topped Plymouth, 6-1. The offense was led by Riley Marsh, Libbey Hicks and Halle Laramie, who each scored two goals.
Hopkinton Middle school girls’ soccer has now won three games in row after beating Henry Moore Middle School, 6-2. The score was 1-1 at the half, but Hopkinton came out strong in the second half. There was good ball movement from Brooke Carlson and Emma Crawford.
The Hopkinton boys’ soccer team improved to 4-0 with a win vs Henry Moore Middle School, 9-2. Seven different players scored for the Hawks. Logan Rockwood had a hat trick. Gabe Lopez, Josh Duval, Steven Newton-Delgado, Garrett Fitzgerald, and Ryan Graham all scored their first goals of the season.
The Rundlett boys’ B1 soccer team fell to Hillsboro, 4-2. Scoring for RMS were Diego Guevara and Jayden Sayles. Keeper James Bruns stopped a penalty kick with a tremendous diving save.
The Concord Capitals PeeWee hockey team opened the 2016-17 season with a loss to the Belmont, Mass., Marauders. Nathaniel Johnson scored the lone goal for the Capitals and he was assisted by Marshall Reedenauer and Finn Benoit. Goalie Kalan Gaudreaut, made many tough saves.
The Concord Capitols 11U football team improved to 4-0 with a 52-25 win over the Bedford Jaguars. Concord’s prolific attack was led by Gabe Marquis, who scored two TDs, threw for two more, and converted two extra points. Moses Carr scored a TD, and converted four extra points. Matt O’Rourke and Austin Wells each scored twice. Noah Blake and Jamari Arzu also scored for the Capitols.
Tune-Up basketball league in Meredith – Boys and girls, grades 6-10. All games will be played at Inter-Lakes Elementary School. The 10-game schedule begins Saturday, Oct. 24, and finishes Nov. 14.
