Pastor Tom Getchell-Lacey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Gilford and Laconia, will be leading a study on the Gospel of Mark. The first four books of the New Testament, collectively called “The Gospels,” are the primary sources for the Christian faith. Of the four, The Gospel of Mark is the earliest and simplest account of the life and ministry of Jesus. A small group study of Mark is being offered for eight weeks starting Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. in the church’s Fireside Room. The Bible will be the primary text, but the book Mark For Everyone by Tom Wright will be used as a guide. There will be a $15 donation for each participant to cover the cost of the book.
