A Concord dentist is accused of assaulting a woman in the parking lot of a company-sponsored event in the city last year.
Police say Mostafa El-Sherif, 59, of Bedford grabbed and attempted to kiss a 38-year-old woman, and when she turned her face, he kissed and licked her neck and face up and down.
El-Sherif faces a misdemeanor charge of simple assault in connection with the Oct. 13, 2015, incident in the area of Water Street. He turned himself in to Concord police early Tuesday night on a warrant issued by the department.
Police began investigating El-Sherif this past July, after a woman came forward with allegations against him.
El-Sherif Dentistry is a Gentle Dental-affiliated practice with an office on Concord Hospital’s campus. El-Sherif has been in private practice in the city since 1995, according to the company’s website.
He could not be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 14 in Concord’s district court.
The case remains under investigation.
